Position Summary

Snap-on Crystal Lake is seeking a qualified Maintenance Mechanic. This position will inspect, repair, and maintain the facility and equipment; perform carpentry, electrical, mechanical, and other related work involved in maintaining the building and equipment. The position will also work with vendors and contractors that render service to the facility. The hours for the position will be 2:00 pm to 10:30 pm Monday through Friday plus overtime as needed.

Responsibilities

• Daily inspection and maintenance of wastewater treatment, potable water, steam generation, and fire protection systems.
• Perform general maintenance and building repairs.
• Coordinate with vendors and contractors.
• Perform carpentry and construction tasks as needed.
• Oversee ice/snow removal and lawn maintenance.
• Conduct routine mechanical and electrical repairs.
• Ensure a safe working environment for all employees.
• Complete special assignments from management.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to obtain IL EPA Class K Wastewater License and Potable Water License.
• Knowledge of boiler operations and steam systems.
• Electrical and mechanical experience.
• Ability to obtain a company forklift license.
• Basic reading, writing, and math skills.
• Good communication skills.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
