Job summary

The State of Washington's Yakima Valley School in Selah, WA is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic 2 to perform skilled repairs across HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and related systems. You will read plans, estimate materials, and respond to service requests to keep the campus safe and functional.

We value journey-level tradespeople with at least four years of experience or completion of a skilled mechanical apprenticeship, a high school diploma or GED, and a valid driver's license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver's license.
• Four years of experience in building and equipment maintenance, construction, or repair work OR completion of a recognized apprenticeship in a skilled mechanical trade.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on mechanical equipment across campus facilities.
• Maintain, operate, and repair electrical, mechanical, structural, and utility distribution systems.
• Monitor safety, fire protection, and environmental control equipment to ensure safe operation.
