Alleima Special Metals in Kennewick, WA, seeks a Mechanic 1 to maintain equipment reliability and support a safe, efficient operation in a union environment. You will perform preventative and corrective maintenance and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and control systems.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, 1–2 years in manufacturing or related trades, and a WA Journeyman license or approved apprenticeship.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• WA Journeyman license or approved apprenticeship.
• 1–2 years manufacturing experience; machinist or millwright background.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Experience with milling machines, lathes, grinding machines and heat-treatment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Promote and support a strong safety culture in all activities.
• Perform preventative, corrective, and routine maintenance on equipment and systems.
• Repair or replace defective parts per procedures and inspect for proper performance.
• Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and control-related issues and estimate parts/labor.
• Test repaired equipment to verify operation.
• Stay current with industry developments and training.
• Perform all maintenance work assigned.
