Job summary

Mittera Group is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to repair and maintain printing presses, saddles and bindings equipment, conveyors and HVAC systems. This 1st shift role runs from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Qualifications

• One-year certificate from college or technical school and three to five years of related experience and/or training or any equivalent combination of education and experience
• Experience in the Automotive mechanics industry is a plus!
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole number, common fractions and decimals.
• Demonstrated skills in leadership, organization and communication are necessary
• Ability to anticipate problems and implement appropriate preventative measures
• Ability to develop new techniques for work processes
• Must be able to give technical direction to others and project leadership over multiple safety teams
• Ability to redirect to issues as they emerge and reprioritize based on current business conditions
• Must possess excellent communication skills and be able to multi-task

Responsibilities

• Observes mechanical devices, equipment and machinery in operation and diagnoses malfunctions
• Studie sblueprints, sketches, machine parts or specifications
• Dismantles machinery or equipment to access defective parts
• Repairs or replaces defective parts in equipment
• Installs functional and structural parts in devices
• Sets up and operates drill press, grinder and metalworking tools to make parts
• Coordinates with manager and assists with preventative maintenance and parts replacement
• Repairs electrical equipment or replaces faulty wiring, switches or relays as qualified
• Monitors and coordinates outside services for major repairs
• Initiates purchase orders for parts or replacements
• Ensures OSHA/EPA compliance and safety rules in the plant
• Performs other duties as assigned
