Job summary

Aerotek is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic for a 1st shift in Kentwood, MI. The role runs Monday to Friday, roughly 6 am to 4 pm, with preventive maintenance to support production, quality, and inspection equipment. You will troubleshoot, repair, and optimize PLC, CNC, PC, and electrical systems.

Qualifications

• Proficiency in CNC machine repair and troubleshooting.
• Ability to connect to PLCs and diagnose issues.
• Strong hydraulics and pneumatics knowledge.
• Capability to identify and repair electrical problems.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical problems with production, quality, and inspection equipment.
• Move and position equipment to ensure proper operation.
• Participate in continuous improvement activities and modify machines and programs.
• Troubleshoot and repair PLC, PC, NC, and CNC controls.
• Perform electrical work and basic mechanical installation and repairs.
• Visually inspect and test machinery using electrical/electronic test equipment.
• Listen for unusual sounds to diagnose problems and discuss operation variations.
• Disassemble defective machines and install new or repaired parts with precision tools.
• Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears and other components.
• Install and repair electrical apparatus and components of equipment.
• Lay out, assemble, install, and maintain pipe systems and hydraulics/pneumatics equipment.
• Repair and maintain the facility structure.
• Install new equipment according to blueprints and specs.
• Program or repair automated machinery with programmable controllers.
• Operate cutting torch or welding equipment to join metal parts.
• Fabricate and repair benches, partitions, or other wooden structures.
• Perform preventative maintenance on all facility equipment.
