Job Summary

Performs maintenance repairs, preventive maintenance (PM), operational functions, and new work supporting the objectives of the Engineering Department at Prisma Health. Documents all work appropriately and demonstrates exemplary behavior, contributing to the total team concept of the department.

Accountabilities

• Maintains or identifies problems with visual items at GHS, such as ceilings, floors, walls, furniture, artwork, equipment, etc., and either repairs or notifies the proper craft leader. 25%
• Performs complex or difficult maintenance repairs or installations, investigates delays, solves problems, and ensures timely completion of work. 20%
• Performs preventive maintenance on assigned equipment and records appropriately. 10%
• Performs scheduled tests complying with JCAHO, DHEC, and other standards. 5%
• Responds to fire alarms and emergency codes at all facilities. 10%
• Inspects outside lighting and reports problems to promote a safe environment. 10%
• Assists other maintenance mechanics and crafts as needed. 10%
• Performs work accurately and timely, with minimal supervision. Documents all work performed and is available for call-back in emergencies. Works weekends on a rotating schedule. Observes safety procedures and attends departmental training and in-service sessions, including testing emergency generators. 10%

Minimum Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent, or highest degree earned.

At least 2 years of maintenance experience.

Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

Certification preferred; Journeyman electrical license preferred; three years of maintenance experience preferred; basic computer skills; data entry skills.
