Maintenance Mechanic

A manufacturing company in Waukegan, IL is looking for a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to join their 1st shift team. This position plays a critical role in reducing equipment downtime and ensuring the safe, efficient operation of production systems.

Responsibilities of the Maintenance Mechanic

• Install, inspect, maintain, and repair plant equipment including metal detectors, baggers, sealers, and scales
• Program, troubleshoot, and modify Allen Bradley PLC systems using Ladder Logic
• Support production teams by diagnosing mechanical and electrical malfunctions
• Interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical instructions for equipment installation and repair
• Maintain accurate documentation of all maintenance activities in compliance with internal and regulatory requirements
• Perform electrical repairs, welding, and other related duties as needed

Requirements of the Maintenance Mechanic

• 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience, preferably in a food production or manufacturing environment
• Proven experience with Allen Bradley PLC programming and Ladder Logic
• Hands-on experience with metal detectors, baggers, sealers, and scales
• Solid understanding of plant maintenance operations, electrical systems, AC/DC motors, controls, gear drives, and mechanical power transmission
• Ability to troubleshoot both mechanical and electrical systems
• Skilled in using metalworking and fabrication tools and equipment

1st shift,DIRECT HIRE

Pay is $38.00 - $40.00 an hour, based on experience
