Job description

Job Title: Maintenance Mechanic

Alutiiq Logistics and Maintenance Services, LLC is seeking a skilled Maintenance Mechanic to join our team at DC Washington JBAB, Washington, DC. The successful candidate will perform maintenance and repairs on all equipment under the supervision of the Lead Engineer or Project Manager. This position does not include standing an Engineer's watch.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Preventive Maintenance: Conduct inspections, perform scheduled maintenance, lubricate, clean, and replace worn parts.
2. Repairs and Troubleshooting: Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues, and test equipment post-repair.
3. Installation and Upgrades: Assist with machinery installation and system upgrades.
4. Documentation and Reporting: Keep accurate maintenance records and report issues.
5. Safety and Compliance: Follow safety protocols and ensure compliance with policies and standards.
6. HVAC Systems: Install, service, and repair HVAC systems, including mounting units, fabricating ductwork, connecting components, and leak testing.

Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED; technical training preferred.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in machinery maintenance, including HVAC systems.
• Strong mechanical and electrical skills, proficiency with tools, ability to interpret technical manuals.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
• Valid driver’s license.
• TS/SCI security clearance with the ability to obtain Yankee White clearance.
• U.S. citizenship required due to government contract.
