Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic in New Jersey to support production operations by maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving industrial machinery and mechanical systems. The role emphasizes minimizing downtime and ensuring a safe, efficient production environment.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience, can read electrical and mechanical drawings, and works well independently in a hands-on, collaborative setting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum 5 years of industrial maintenance experience.
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read electrical and mechanical drawings.
• Experience with preventive maintenance systems and maintenance documentation.
• Working knowledge of wiring, conduit, and industrial piping installation.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance on production machinery, motors, conveyors, pneumatic systems, and related equipment.
• Diagnose equipment issues and identify root causes of mechanical failures.
• Repair or replace defective components using hand tools, power tools, hoists, and measuring instruments.
• Read and interpret mechanical and electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical manuals.
• Adjust machine settings and operating parameters for optimal performance.
• Support molding machine operations, including setup adjustments and troubleshooting.
• Repair EOAT (End of Arm Tooling) and related automation components.
• Install and maintain conduit, wiring, copper piping, and PVC piping.
• Use testing equipment such as voltage/ohm meters, micrometers, calipers, and other precision tools.
• Maintain spare parts inventory and assist with ordering replacement components.
• Document maintenance activities in computerized maintenance systems.
• Coordinate with equipment vendors and service technicians when needed.
• Promote workplace safety and maintain a clean, organized maintenance area.
