Job summary

Leggett & Platt Incorporated in Statesville, NC, is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to support carpet cushion manufacturing. You will take direction from the Maintenance Supervisor to assist in improving processes, with a schedule Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m.

- 4:00 p.m., and some Saturdays. Responsibilities include assembling machinery and electrical equipment, reading blueprints and schematics, using hand tools and power tools, maintaining equipment, inspecting products for quality, and

There just hasn't been enough education on how quality carpet pad is the source behind the comfort and added durability in your carpeting.

As a Maintenance Mechanic, you will take direction from the Maintenance Supervisor to assist in completing projects that will improve current processes in the manufacturing of carpet cushion. The work schedule is Monday thruFriday, 6:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., with some required Saturday’s.

So, what will you be doing as a Maintenance Mechanic?

• Assemble machinery, fabricated metal products, electrical equipment, and more according to directions
• Read blueprints, schematics, or similar documentation, then build to those specifications
• Use various machines and hand tools and power tools to accomplish assigned tasks
• Maintain equipment and perform basic repairs when needed
• Periodically check products to ensure quality and uniform completion; resolve any identified problems and alert supervisor
• Performs other related duties as assigned

To be successful in this role, you’ll need to have the following:

• Have at least 2 years Industrial/Manufacturing experience
• Ability to read and understand blueprints and schematics
• Basic ability in mathematics, reading, or writing
• Ability to work independently or as a team to complete tasks
• Ability to maintain a safe work environment
• Ability to use various hand tools
• Available to work on some Saturday’s
