Summary/Objective:

The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for performing a wide range of skilled maintenance tasks under limited supervision. This role includes installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining production and facility equipment in support of the company’s operational goals. The position requires a strong working knowledge of mechanical systems, proactive problem-solving, and independent decision-making while adhering to safety and productivity standards. The Maintenance Mechanic plays a key role in ensuring equipment efficiency and maintaining overall facility functionality.

Essential Functions:

• Perform specialized and moderately complex maintenance duties on production equipment and facility systems.
• Execute preventative maintenance, repairs, cleaning, installation, troubleshooting for industrial machinery, equipment, and building systems.
• Operate independently, exercising sound judgment and initiative, while adhering to management approval processes as needed.
• Maintain accurate documentation to monitor operational efficiency of all machinery.
• Create and manage a preventative maintenance schedule including daily, monthly, and annual service tasks.
• Inspect key equipment and operating systems, taking corrective action as necessary.
• Ensure adherence to all mechanical standards, controls, and specifications to maintain high-quality operations.
• Oversee general facility maintenance such as HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and landscaping; coordinate with outside vendors when required.
• Assist with additional miscellaneous projects or tasks as assigned by senior management.

Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Completion of a maintenance apprenticeship or a combination of relevant education and on-the-job production maintenance experience.
• Minimum of 4 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficient in hydraulic, pneumatic, mechanical, and industrial systems. Basic knowledge of PLC systems and HVAC systems preferred.
• Supervisory Responsibilities:
• This position does not include supervisory duties.

Physical Demands:

• Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach, walk, and use hands for handling or operating equipment.
• Must be able to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds frequently, and up to 70 pounds occasionally.
• Must have adequate vision for close work, distance, color differentiation, peripheral awareness, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
