Job summary

Clarios is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic for our St. Joseph, MO plant. The role involves troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining classification machinery and facility equipment on multiple shifts with overtime and weekend opportunities.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Troubleshooting and repairing machinery and facility equipment.
• Repairs machines, jigs, fixtures, gauges and replacement parts.
• Read and interpret electrical diagrams and blueprints.
• Service and operate rectifiers and electronic equipment.
• Set up and operate lathe, milling machine, drill press, grinder, welder, etc.
• Perform preventive maintenance and lubrication of machinery.
• Carpentry and sheet metal work for benches, guards, boxes, etc.

Shifts

1st Shift (6:30am-2:30pm), 2nd shift (3:00pm–11:00pm) and 3rd shift (10:00pm–6:00am). Overtime and weekends may be required. Weekend shift +$0.50/hr. Paid weekly on Fridays.

Job Responsibilities

• Troubleshooting and repairing machinery and facility equipment
• Repairs machines, jigs, fixtures, gauges and fits replacement parts and/or makes replacement parts as required
• Must be able to do electrical, plumbing, heating and roofing repairs
• Must be able to read schematics and electronic blueprints
• Must be capable of servicing and operating rectifiers
• Must be capable of operating precision hand tools and electronic equipment
• Adjusts machines for production when adjustment is beyond the scope of operator
• Maintains and installs piping, fittings, valves, gauges and all types of controls for hydraulic systems, gas and air lines
• Requires ability to set up and operate lathe, milling machine, drill press, grinder, power saws, welder, etc.
• Makes periodic checks of machines and equipment and performs preventive maintenance as required; i.e oils, greases, etc.
• Performs carpentry and sheet metal work in fabricating and repairing benches, guards, boxes, trays, etc.

Qualifications

• Computer skills, including Microsoft Office and working on computerized equipment
• Basic math, reading and writing skills
• Able to work in a fast pace environment, multi-task, and track workload
• Able to read and schematics and blueprints
• Able to work overtime and weekends as needed
• Must be able to wear required PPE (if applicable)
• Qualified applicants must be a U.S. Citizen or a Legal Permanent Resident card holder. Sponsorship is not available for this position

Preferred Qualifications

• A High School diploma or equivalent
• PLC troubleshooting experience preferred but not required
