Job summary

Jobot is seeking an Industrial Maintenance Mechanic for a Fortune 500 metals manufacturer in the United States. You will help maintain equipment reliability and minimize downtime to support production goals.

Ideal candidates have a High School Diploma or GED and 3+ years of industrial maintenance experience with strong mechanical troubleshooting skills. CMP/CMMS experience and safety leadership are a plus in a fast-paced plant setting.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain manufacturing and production equipment.
• Perform preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities.
• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and power transmission issues.
• Conduct equipment inspections and identify opportunities to improve reliability.
• Respond to unplanned equipment breakdowns and execute repairs efficiently.
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, and technical manuals.
• Support shutdowns, equipment rebuilds, installations, and capital projects.
• Participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Work closely with operations, electricians, and maintenance leadership to improve production performance.
• Follow safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout and safe work practices.

What You'll Do

As a Maintenance Mechanic, you will play a critical role in maintaining equipment reliability and minimizing downtime while supporting production and operational goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain manufacturing and production equipment
• Perform preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities
• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and power transmission issues
• Conduct equipment inspections and identify opportunities to improve reliability
• Respond to unplanned equipment breakdowns and execute repairs efficiently
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, and technical manuals

Required Qualifications

• Ability to work safely in a fast-paced operation

Preferred Experience

• Mechanical maintenance in a union manufacturing environment
• Hydraulics and pneumatics
• Pumps, conveyors, gearboxes, bearings, motors, and power transmission systems
• Welding and fabrication experience
• Preventative and predictive maintenance programs
• CMMS experience
• Root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives
