Job summary

Jobot is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to join our on-site team in Riverdale, IA. You will maintain and repair production equipment to minimize downtime and support operational goals on a steady, day-to-day basis.

The ideal candidate has 3+ years in industrial maintenance, strong troubleshooting skills, and experience in manufacturing environments with a focus on safety and reliability. This is a permanent, on-site role with competitive pay.

Responsibilities

What You'll Do

As a Maintenance Mechanic, you'll play a critical role in maintaining equipment reliability and minimizing downtime while supporting production and operational goals.

Key Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain manufacturing and production equipment
• Perform preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities
• Diagnose mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and power transmission issues
• Conduct equipment inspections and identify opportunities to improve reliability
• Respond to unplanned equipment breakdowns and execute repairs efficiently
• Read and interpret mechanical drawings, schematics, and technical manuals
• Support shutdowns, equipment rebuilds, installations, and capital projects
• Participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives
• Work closely with operations, electricians, and maintenance leadership to improve production performance
• Follow all safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout and safe work practices

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• 3+ years of industrial maintenance experience
• Strong mechanical troubleshooting skills
• Experience working in a manufacturing, industrial, processing, or production environment
• Ability to work safely in a fast-paced operation

Preferred Experience

• Mechanical maintenance in a union manufacturing environment
• Hydraulics and pneumatics
• Pumps, conveyors, gearboxes, bearings, motors, and power transmission systems
• Welding and fabrication experience
• Preventative and predictive maintenance programs
• CMMS experience
• Root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives
