Job summary

Join us!Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, the Maintenance Mechanic will be primarily responsible for assisting with installation, maintenance, and repair of a variety of production equipment within the facility.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:Assist with diagnosing, tearing down, and repairing problems or equipment on plant systemsWork from drawings, plans or sketches, fabricating equipment, fixtures, devices, etc. as requiredUtilize test equipment, instruments, measuring devices and controls, hand and power tools, and material handling equipmentAssist in maintaining workflow of maintenance work requestsTrack progress of work orders, work to close work requests in a timely mannerMaintain clean and safe work areas throughout the facilityOperates lifting devices as trained by Materion SafetyREQUIREMENTS:High school diploma or equivalent5+ years of mechanic experience within an industrial maintenance environment preferredFormal technical training is preferred but not requiredExperience in a metals industrial setting preferred but not requiredAbility to work in a fast-paced environment with changing prioritiesBasic understanding of brakes and clutchesBasic understanding of working with plumbing, plastic, copper and/or black ironBasic understanding with welding/fabrication, pneumatics, and hydraulicsBasic understanding regarding machining skills to include lathe, milling, hand tools, and grindersAbility to perform basic carpentryAbility to perform stick, mig, and tig weldingAbility to work with a team with an organized and methodical approachPhysical Demands and Working Environment:The employee frequently is required to stand, sit, walk, stoop, or crouchThe employee may be required to lift no greater than 35lbs.Pay Range:$32.44 - $40.07HPThe selection of the person to be hired for this position is contingent on the candidate having export compliance eligibility for access to U.S. controlled technology which comes under the licensing jurisdiction of the U.S. Department of State, International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the U.S. Department of Commerce, Export Administration Regulations (EAR).The candidate selected will have to qualify as either a U.S. citizen, a U.S. National, a lawful permanent resident of the U.S., a Person Admitted into the U.S. as an Asylee or Refugee., a National of a country that is not prohibited from having access to U.S. controlled technology (via a letter of assurance), or a Person to be approved for an export license by the governing agency whose technology comes under its jurisdiction.
