Job summary

Materion Corporation in Elmore, OH is seeking a Maintenance Technician to install, troubleshoot, and maintain plant machinery and equipment. This role requires strong problem solving, teamwork, and the ability to read sketches, blueprints, and SOPs.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• Four years of industrial mechanical maintenance experience or related military service.
• Ability to work independently or in a team to meet demands.
• Completed four-year apprentice program is considered.

• Ability to analyze mechanical problems and implement solutions.
• Day, afternoon, night shifts and weekend coverage may be required.

Responsibilities

• Installs, troubleshoots, and maintains machinery and equipment.
• Works from sketches, manuals, drawings, blueprints, and SOPs; suggests alterations to Lead Mechanic or Area Leader.
• Recognizes operational irregularities and takes corrective actions.
• Participates in team meetings and may assume leadership roles as needed.
• Assists in training other personnel and apprentices, including safety procedures.

You Will Have The Opportunity To

• Installs, troubleshoots, and maintains machinery and equipment.
• Works from a variety of sketches, manuals, drawings, blueprints, and SOP’s when available and recommends alterations to Lead Mechanic or Area Leader.
• Recognizes operational irregularities on equipment or processes, accurately determines the cause and takes appropriate corrective actions.
• Actively participates in team meetings and activities and from time to time may be asked to assume various leadership roles within the team.
• Shares the responsibility with the Lead Mechanic for providing training to other departmental personnel/apprentices, including safety procedures.

Requirements

• Individual must have a High School Diploma or GED.
• Must be able to work independently or as a member of a team to meet demands.
• Also must have completed at least four years of industrial mechanical maintenance work or relevant military experience.
• A completed approved four year apprentice program will also be considered.
• Individual should have basic computer knowledge.
• Individual must be able to independently analyze mechanical or equipment problems and implement solutions.
• Individual may be exposed to undesirable conditions such as dust, fumes, dirt, close quarters, chemicals, airborne Be, etc.
• Individual also frequently lifts heavy material, climbs stairs, and is on feet most of the work day.
• Must have good verbal and written skills.
• Must demonstrate effective interpersonal skills to provide customer service.
• Must be open to day, afternoon and night shift and weekend coverage - Shift work could be mandatory.

The selection of the person to be hired for this position is contingent on the candidate having export compliance eligibility for access to U.S. controlled technology which comes under the licensing jurisdiction of the U.S. Department of State, International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the U.S. Department of Commerce, Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
