Job summary

DICK'S Sporting Goods is seeking a Maintenance Technician for evening shifts in our New York DC. You will maintain, troubleshoot, and repair conveyance systems and machinery, logging PM work and parts usage.

You will train junior technicians and coordinate with external vendors to ensure safe, timely project completion. Ideal candidates have 3–5 years of experience, an appropriate technical degree, and strong knowledge of hydraulics, PLCs, and electrical schematics.

Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in mechanical or electrical field or equivalent
• 3-5 years of relevant experience
• Welding, burning and cutting experience
• Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, gear boxes and PLC controls
• Familiar with DC-specific software packages (ex. Crown PM, Gage) and equipment
• Able to read electrical/mechanical drawings/schematics
• Good safety awareness
• Lift up to 75 lbs and ability to stand, bend, stoop, reach, push and pull
• Experience with LOTO procedures

Responsibilities

• Adhere to OSHA safety standards and LOTO procedures.
• Maintain, troubleshoot and repair facility and conveyance systems; follow PMs and document work in asset management system.
• Report spare parts inventory levels and daily usage to maintenance leadership.
• Train junior technicians to elevate performance in troubleshooting and repairs.
• Collaborate with outside vendors to complete DC projects safely and on time.
• Take on additional duties to support DC operations as needed.

OVERVIEW

Shift: 2B: Tuesday - Friday 5:30p - 3:30a

Rate: $29.55/hr. + $1/hr. shift dif

Job Duties and Responsibilities

• Adhere to all safety requirements including OSHA standards with regards to LOTO and safe work practices.
• Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair all equipment related to the facility and conveyance systems within the facility. Follow PM standards and document work performed for accurate record keeping in our asset management system. Areas of expertise must include PLC's, conveyors, 3 phase electric, hydraulics, pneumatics, plumbing, and any other related equipment.
• Accurately report spare parts inventory levels and daily parts usage to Maintenance leadership to help ensure spare parts inventory is maintained.
• Assist in teammate development by training junior technicians in order to elevate their performance level while troubleshooting and repairing any related assets.
• Work closely with outside vendors in order to complete projects within the DCs in a safe and timely manor.
• Take on other duties as needed to support the DC and its operational needs

QUALIFICATIONS

• Associate's Degree - 2 year vocational technical certificate or degree preferably in a mechanical or electrical application
• 3-5 years of experience
• Welding, burning, cutting
• Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, gear boxes & PLC controls
• Familiar with DC-specific specialized software packages (ex. Crown PM, Gage) & equipment
• Able to read & understand electrical mechanical building type drawings/schematics
• Good safety awareness
• Ability to stand, bend, stoop, reach, push, pull & lift up to 75 lbs.
• Experience with LOTO

Targeted Pay Range

Targeted Pay Range: $29.55 - $42.90. Starting rate of pay may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, location, experience and position offered. The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location.
