Job summary

DICK’S Sporting Goods in Thompson, PA is seeking a Maintenance Technician for the distribution center. The role focuses on maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing facility and conveyance systems, with emphasis on PLCs, conveyors, hydraulics, pneumatics, and related equipment. The incumbent will follow PM standards and document work in the asset management system.

  • 2‑year vocational technical certificate preferred in mechanical or electrical applications.
  • 3–5 years of relevant experience.
  • Experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, PLCs, and gear boxes.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair facility and conveyance systems. Follow PM standards and document work in asset management system.
  • Accurately report spare parts inventory levels and daily usage to Maintenance leadership.
  • Assist in teammate development by training junior technicians.
  • Work with outside vendors to complete projects safely and timely.
  • Take on other duties to support DC operations.

OVERVIEW

Shift: 2B: Tuesday - Friday 5:30p - 3:30a

Rate: $29.55/hr. + $1/hr. shift difference

Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Adhere to all safety requirements including OSHA standards with regards to LOTO and safe work practices.
  • Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair all equipment related to the facility and conveyance systems within the facility. Follow PM standards and document work performed for accurate record keeping in our asset management system. Areas of expertise must include PLC’s, conveyors, 3 phase electric, hydraulics, pneumatics, plumbing, and any other related equipment.
  • Accurately report spare parts inventory levels and daily parts usage to Maintenance leadership to help ensure spare parts inventory is maintained.
  • Assist in teammate development by training junior technicians in order to elevate their performance level while troubleshooting and repairing any related assets.
  • Work closely with outside vendors in order to complete projects within the DCs in a safe and timely manner.
  • Take on other duties as needed to support the DC and its operational needs
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Associate's Degree -
  • 2 year vocational technical certificate or degree preferably in a mechanical or electrical application
  • 3-5 years of experience
  • Welding, burning, cutting
  • Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, gear boxes & PLC controls
  • Familiar with DC-specific specialized software packages (ex. Crown PM, Gage) & equipment
  • Able to read & understand electrical mechanical building type drawings/schematics
  • Good safety awareness
  • Ability to stand, bend, stoop, reach, push, pull & lift up to 75 lbs.
  • Experience with LOTO

Targeted Pay Range: $29.55 - $42.90. Starting rate of pay may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, location, experience and position offered. The actual hourly rate will equal or exceed the required minimum wage applicable to the job location.
