Job summary

McLaren Health Care is seeking a skilled Health Care Mechanic to join our facilities maintenance team. You will assemble, install, monitor, repair and maintain clinical and facility machinery and assist with construction projects as needed.

The role requires a high school diploma or equivalent, at least 2 years of related experience, a valid Michigan Operator’s license and the ability to obtain insurance carrier approval to drive hospital vehicles. Shift: 11:00 p.m. – 7:30 a.m.

• Must meet approval by insurance carrier to drive hospital vehicles.

Responsibilities

• Monitors, assembles, installs, adjusts, monitors, repairs and maintains machinery as part of the powerhouse operations.
• Assists with construction projects as needed.
• Responds to in-house requests, prioritizes and implements maintenance actions.

Assembles, installs, adjusts, monitors, repairs and maintains machinery and performs skilled maintenance and repair tasks. Assists with construction projects.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Monitors, takes readings, repairs and adjust the powerhouse operations
• Monitors, takes readings, starts/stops (as needed) the cooling plants
• Responds to requests from in-house staff and patients for services, decides appropriate response, prioritizes and implements

Required:

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Minimum 2 years of job related experience
• Must possess valid State of Michigan Operator’s license
• Must meet approval by insurance carrier to drive hospital vehicles

Preferred:

• JCAHO certified license for Health Care Mechanic
• Previous mechanical experience in a health care setting
