Job summary

Reworld Waste is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to oversee planned, unplanned and preventative maintenance, ensuring safe operation of equipment in our industrial disposal process.

You will perform preventive maintenance, use root-cause analysis to investigate breakdowns, prioritize repairs to minimize downtime, and document activities in our maintenance system in collaboration with the plant team.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 2–4 years experience in a heavy industrial/manufacturing environment.
• MA 1C/2C Hoisting License or ability to obtain.
• Must be flexible to work on call, nights, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance per schedule to prevent breakdowns.
• Use root-cause analysis to investigate breakdowns and line stoppages.
• Prioritize work to minimize downtime and complete paperwork in the maintenance documentation program.
• Use the maintenance documentation program to manage work orders and spare parts.
• Repair/maintain production machinery including inspection, assembly and replacement.
• Observe machinery operation to diagnose malfunctions.
• Review maintenance reports to plan activities.
• Inspect machines for conformance with safety and performance standards.

About The Role

As a Maintenance Mechanic, you will be responsible for the planned, unplanned, and preventative maintenance tasks required to ensure safe and efficient operational effectiveness of equipment and systems which enable Reworld's industrial disposal process.

Position Responsibilities

• Effectively complete preventive maintenance tasks per maintenance schedule to prevent breakdowns of equipment and operational downtime
• Utilize root-cause analysis skills to investigate breakdown and line stoppages collaborating with various teams and stakeholders
• Prioritize work to ensure timely maintenance, repair and installation of equipment, tools, and utility systems to minimize production downtime and complete all required paperwork and documentation in the company’s computerized maintenance documentation program
• Utilize Reworld's defined maintenance documentation program to open and close out work orders, check out spare parts, and other activities as required in the plant.
• Repair and/or maintain the operating condition of industrial production or processing machinery or equipment including inspection, assembly, disassembly, and replacement as necessary
• Observe and evaluate the operation of machinery or equipment to diagnose malfunctions utilizing mechanical devices
• Review maintenance reports and statistics to plan and modify maintenance activities
• Inspect operating machines and equipment for conformance with operational and safety performance standards.

Position Requirements & Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent, required
• A minimum of 2-4 years’ experience in a heavy industrial/manufacturing environment
• Must possess or be able to quickly obtain MA 1C/2C Hoisting License (refer to state of MA for license requirements)
• Must be flexible to work on call, nights, weekends, and holidays, as required to meet company needs
