Position Overview

The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for the efficient, cost-effective maintenance, repair, and preventative maintenance of all equipment, buildings, and facilities.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Perform mechanical and electrical repairs on all equipment associated with operations.
• Install valves, piping, pumps, and other processing equipment as required.
• Inspect, clean, and lubricate equipment according to the preventive maintenance schedule.
• Diagnose problems and determine appropriate corrective actions.
• Maintain accurate spare parts inventory.
• Carry out repairs as directed or according to the maintenance schedule.
• Represent the plant when coordinating with contractors working on plant equipment.
• Follow and execute all work permits as required.
• Demonstrate commitment to Responsible Care in daily activities.
• Comply with all environmental, health, and safety regulations and company policies.
• Perform other duties as assigned or required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical school preferred.
• Minimum of five (5) years of maintenance experience in an industrial plant setting, including welding, plumbing, pipe fitting, electrical work, equipment installation, and rebuilds.
• Experience working with pumps (centrifugal, gear, rotary), gearboxes, motors, conveying systems, etc.
• Familiarity with SAP, EPAC, Office, Power BI.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to evaluate issues and identify root causes of failures.
• Experience working in team environments and cross-functional collaboration.

Additional Information

Special Factors

• Work in a 24/7 chemical manufacturing facility.
• Work hours: 5:30 AM - 2:00 PM, Monday to Friday. Call-in work as required.

EHS Responsibilities

• Prioritize safety and health in all activities, including PQ Principles.
• Participate in risk assessment audits as applicable.
• Understand and implement PQ Principles (PQP) within the site.
• Complete all required HSE training promptly.
