Scope of the Position

The maintenance mechanic performs maintenance and repair operations to keep plant property, equipment, machinery, and tools in good condition. Responsibilities include diagnosing problems and working in various capacities related to maintenance, overhaul, and repair of plant equipment, processes, and facilities. A general knowledge of mechanical, pneumatic, electrical, and electronic systems is required. The mechanic must plan and schedule maintenance activities to minimize downtime, with supervision from Maintenance Supervisors.

Responsibilities
  • Monitor plant operations and review production data from the past 24 hours.
  • Identify misses, trends, and potential outages affecting key process indicators.
  • Participate in shift meetings, providing data input to support daily planning.
  • Execute planned maintenance and assist with cleaning activities.
  • Contribute to follow-up and action planning.
  • Focus on trend analysis, root cause problem solving, and external support requests.
  • Review the weekly maintenance schedule for necessary engagement.
  • Communicate effectively with the plant team and external contractors via various channels.
  • Maintain a clean work area and perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Educational Requirements:

  • At least one year of technical school or equivalent experience.
  • Effective reading, writing, speaking in English, and basic math skills.
  • Ability to read and understand technical drawings.
  • Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical systems, and electronic controls.
  • Safety and environmental training and experience.

Related Work Experience:

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is required.
  • Experience in maintenance involving mechanical and electrical skills is preferred.
  • PLC programming or troubleshooting skills are a plus but not mandatory.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work while seated, walking, or standing for at least 40 hours per week.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally and 20 lbs frequently.
  • Capability to climb, crawl, squat, bend, or kneel for short periods.
