Job summary

Materion Corporation is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to support installation, maintenance, and repair of production equipment within the facility. The role reports to the Maintenance Manager and involves diagnosing issues, fabricating components, and maintaining safe workflow.

The ideal candidate has 1+ year of industrial maintenance experience, basic skills in welding (stick/mig/tig) and machining, and the ability to work in a fast-paced setting with changing priorities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1+ years of mechanic experience within an industrial maintenance environment preferred.
• Formal technical training is preferred but not required.
• Experience in a metals industrial setting preferred but not required.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
• Basic understanding of brakes and clutches.
• Basic understanding with welding/fabrication, pneumatics, and hydraulics.
• Basic understanding regarding machining skills to include lathe, milling, hand tools, and grinders.
• Ability to perform basic carpentry.
• Ability to perform stick, mig, and tig welding.
• Ability to work with a team with an organized and methodical approach.

Responsibilities

• Assist with diagnosing, tearing down, and repairing problems or equipment on plant systems.
• Work from drawings, plans or sketches, fabricating equipment, fixtures, devices, etc. as required.
• Utilize test equipment, instruments, measuring devices and controls, hand and power tools, and material handling equipment.
• Assist in maintaining workflow of maintenance work requests.
• Track progress of work orders, work to close work requests in a timely manner.
• Maintain clean and safe work areas throughout the facility.
• Operates lifting devices as trained by Materion Safety.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Assist with diagnosing, tearing down, and repairing problems or equipment on plant systems
• Work from drawings, plans or sketches, fabricating equipment, fixtures, devices, etc. as required
• Utilize test equipment, instruments, measuring devices and controls, hand and power tools, and material handling equipment
• Assist in maintaining workflow of maintenance work requests.
• Track progress of work orders, work to close work requests in a timely manner
• Maintain clean and safe work areas throughout the facility
• Operates lifting devices as trained by Materion Safety

REQUIREMENTS:

Physical Demands and Working Environment:

• The employee frequently is required to stand, sit, walk, stoop, or crouch
• The employee may be required to lift no greater than 35lbs.

The selection of the person to be hired for this position is contingent on the candidate having export compliance eligibility for access to U.S. controlled technology which comes under the licensing jurisdiction of the U.S. Department of State, International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the U.S. Department of Commerce, Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
