Job Description Maintenance Mechanic Career Opportunity

Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Erie is seeking a full-time Maintenance Mechanic. The schedule primarily includes Monday-Friday work. The Maintenance Mechanic will be part of the on-call rotation during weekdays and weekends, with the expectation to report to work after hours or on weekends if needed.

Pay range: $16.00-$25.00 per hour; on-call pay

Pay based on experience.

Become the Maintenance Mechanic you always wanted to be

• Safely test and operate emergency power supply systems (EPSS) and their components.
• Install, maintain, and repair mechanical, electrical, HVAC, pneumatic, oxygen, and telephone systems.
• Work independently within assigned time frames under supervisor guidance.
• Maintain skills in auto, carpentry, phone, pneumatics, stationary engineering, hydraulics, and computer systems.
• Plan, interpret, examine, draw, record work, and report daily completion to supervisor.
• Perform control maintenance, building construction and repair, and equipment overhaul within required time frames.
• Maintain knowledge of all facility systems and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• Licensing in a specialty field such as electrical, plumbing, or HVAC is preferred.
• Valid driver's license may be required.
• High school diploma or equivalent work experience.
• Experience in preventative maintenance, equipment repair, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, or construction is required; healthcare experience is a plus.
• Ability to work weekdays, weekends, evenings, and nights if needed.
• Ability to lift, lower, push, pull, and retrieve objects weighing at least 50 pounds.
• Ability to tolerate frequent position changes and work on ladders and scaffolds, and sit, stand, or walk for extended periods.
• Ability to work safely with hazardous materials.
