Job summary

Rolite-Manufacturing in New York seeks an experienced Maintenance Mechanic to join our fast-paced manufacturing team. You will inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain production equipment and facility systems to keep operations safe, reliable, and efficient.

The role requires hands-on skills with hand and power tools, ability to read blueprints and manuals, and independent work as well as collaboration with the maintenance team.

Qualifications

• Experience in industrial, manufacturing, plant, or facility maintenance.
• Strong mechanical maintenance and troubleshooting skills.
• Electrical maintenance or troubleshooting experience is highly desirable.
• Ability to read, interpret, and work from blueprints, mechanical drawings, schematics, repair manuals, parts catalogs, and equipment documentation.
• Experience performing routine preventive maintenance on industrial equipment.
• Working knowledge of mechanical systems, including bearings, gears, belts, chains, shafts, couplings, and drive systems.

Responsibilities

• Inspect and routinely inspect production machinery and equipment to identify wear, damage, abnormal operating conditions, and potential failures.
• Perform scheduled preventive and predictive maintenance on machinery and equipment.
• Troubleshoot and diagnose mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment problems.
• Repair, adjust, rebuild, or replace defective mechanical and electrical components.
• Maintain and repair equipment such as reamers, roll mills, presses, conveyors, motors, pumps, gearboxes, and other industrial machinery.
• Perform repairs to machinery, equipment, fixtures, structures, and other plant assets.
• Lubricate machinery and perform routine adjustments, alignments, and equipment setups.
• Inspect belts, bearings, gears, chains, shafts, couplings, seals, motors, and other wear components and replace as necessary.
• Perform basic electrical troubleshooting, including working with motors, switches, sensors, controls, and electrical components, within the scope of training and qualifications.
• Use precision measuring instruments and appropriate diagnostic tools to identify equipment problems and verify repairs.
• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, equipment manuals, repair manuals, parts catalogs, and technical drawings.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, parts used, and equipment conditions through work orders or a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS), where applicable.
• Respond promptly to breakdowns and maintenance requests to minimize downtime.
• Communicate equipment problems, repair status, and potential maintenance concerns to supervisors, production personnel, and other maintenance team members.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Properly follow Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and other established safety practices before performing maintenance or repairs.
• Participate in continuous improvement efforts to improve equipment reliability, reduce downtime, and increase production efficiency.
• Perform other maintenance-related duties as assigned.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Mechanic to join our maintenance team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining production equipment, machinery, and facility systems to support safe, reliable, and efficient operations.

The successful candidate will have strong mechanical and/or electrical maintenance experience and the ability to diagnose equipment problems, identify defective components, and complete repairs in a timely manner. Equipment may include reamers, roll mills, presses, flame brazing equipment, automated tube benders, saws and other industrial manufacturing machinery.

This position requires a hands-on individual who is comfortable working with a wide variety of hand and power tools, reading blueprints and technical documentation, and working independently as well as with production and maintenance team members.

Key Responsibilities:

• Basic to intermediate knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems.
• Ability to use measuring devices and diagnostic equipment accurately.
• Ability to prioritize multiple maintenance requests and respond effectively to equipment breakdowns.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while also working effectively as part of a maintenance team.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and work in various positions for extended periods.
• Ability to routinely lift and carry tools, parts, and equipment of varying weights.
• Ability to work from ladders, platforms, and elevated work areas when required.
• Ability to work in confined or difficult-to-access areas as necessary.
