Maintenance Mechanic

Job Summary

Responsible for production needs as appropriate for assignment.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities

• Responsible for actively supporting continuous improvement initiatives of the facility
• Repair and troubleshoot equipment as needed
• PMs (preventive maintenance) to all equipment as required
• Assist Manufacturing with machine processes
• Upkeep on building and property
• Review orders in EAM and review workload schedule as assigned
• Close out orders in EAM when applicable
• Notify Supervisor or Lead Person of needed items
• Visually inspection of machines and parts
• Operate various power tools including (but not limited to) grinders, presses, saws, etc
• Complete logs and charts on all equipment as required
• Respond to Supervisors, Lead, or Operators when called for assistance
• Make recommendations for modification or fabrication of machines and parts
• Assist other departments when needed
• Maintain general housekeeping and orderly work area(s)
• Maintain regular, reliable and punctual attendance at the worksite for the duration of scheduled shifts, including mandatory overtime
• Understand and comply with all company policies, procedures, rules and standards
• Maintain professional, cooperative, respectful and ethical conduct when interacting with coworkers, customers, vendors and the public
• Meet established productivity, quality, accuracy and performance standards while completing assigned work in a timely manner
• Effectively and consistently support the company mission, vision and values
• Responsible for all other duties, procedures and instructions as required by the job function, or as assigned, to meet organizational needs

Working Conditions

This position primarily operates in a manufacturing environment where exposure to loud noises, machinery, and varying temperatures is common. Employees may also be exposed to dust, fumes, and other airborne particles. Personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided and must be worn as required.

• Physical Requirements:
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, bend, kneel, crouch, or climb during shift
  • Regularly required to talk and hear
  • Must be able to lift and carry at least 51 pounds
  • Ability to operate machinery, tools, and equipment as necessary
  • Visual and manual dexterity is required to inspect and handle products/materials
  • Break periods will align with the company's manufacturing policies
  • Work schedules may change based on business needs
• Safety Requirements:
  • Employees are expected to comply with all safety policies/practices/guidelines and actively participate in maintaining a safe workplace
  • Participation in safety training and adherence to safety procedures (e.g. lockout/tagout) is required
• Additional Conditions:
  • Exposure to repetitive tasks and fast-paced production lines is common
  • May involve prolonged periods of standing and performing the same motion repeatedly
  • Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights when required
