Job summary

Berk Manufacturing is seeking a Maintenance Mechanic to repair machines in a fast-paced manufacturing setting. You will diagnose mechanical issues, perform preventative maintenance, and replace bearings, belts, chains, blades, and motors to keep lines running efficiently.

Collaboration with production and QC teams, adherence to safety policies including lockout/tagout, and willingness to work day or night shifts are required. Prior fabrication experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Hands-on mechanical experience in an industrial setting.
• Ability to troubleshoot and repair equipment.
• Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors and motors.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical issues on production equipment.
• Perform routine and preventative maintenance on machinery and facility systems.
• Repair or replace defective components such as bearings, belts, chains, blades, and motors.
• Support equipment installations and line changeovers; ensure safety policies are followed.

Employees are assigned to either day shift coverage or night shift coverage, depending on availability and plant requirements.Day shift coverage generally falls between approximately 5:00 AM – 6:00 PMNight shift coverage generally falls between approximately 5:00 PM – 4:00 AMTypical shifts are 8–10 hours in lengthExact start and end times may vary slightly depending on production needs and maintenance prioritiesCandidates may indicate preference for day or night shift, and assignments will be made accordingly.
