Job summary

The Community Builders, Inc. is seeking a Service Maintenance Manager to lead the on-site maintenance team, oversee routine and preventive work, and ensure market-ready homes while maintaining a safe living environment for residents.

This is a hands-on leadership role requiring to mentor staff and coordinate with vendors. The role involves managing REAC/HQS prep, budgeting, and capital projects, with a focus on safety, quality, and positive workplace culture.

Qualifications

• Leadership and mentoring of maintenance staff and vendors.
• Experience in training, budgeting, and bid management.
• Knowledge of safety standards and building operations.
• Experience with REAC/HQS inspections and audits.

Responsibilities

• Provide direction and supervision to maintenance team and contractors.
• Manage preventive maintenance, work orders, and unit turns; schedule vendor services.
• Train team to ensure policy and safety compliance.
• Oversee cleaning, painting, repairs, landscaping, and utility concerns.
• Support REAC/HQS prep and budget reviews; manage capital projects and vendor contracts.
• Maintain maintenance shop, inventory, and PPE; participate in on-call duties.
