Unity Homes at Ballston in Arlington is seeking a Maintenance Manager to oversee general maintenance, safety, and asset care for multi-unit properties. The role requires organizing turnover, preventive maintenance, and coordinating with contractors to ensure high-quality work across HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and carpentry tasks.

The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical aptitude, supervisory experience, and a valid driver’s license, plus EPA Freon Recovery and HVAC certificates.

Qualifications

• Ability to read and write English.
• Prior experience reflecting overall general mechanical aptitude and ability.
• Valid Driver’s License (if operating a vehicle).
• EPA Freon Recovery Certificate; HVAC Certificate.

Responsibilities

• Supervises and participates on-site in general maintenance and repairs of properties (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting).
• Organizes turnover and preventive maintenance activities; prioritizes work from orders.
• Orders supplies and maintains inventory of maintenance supplies.
• Oversees outside contractors and inspects work; takes corrective actions.
• Trains subordinate staff and participates in contractor selection and scheduling.
• Issues purchase orders and processes invoices.
