Job summary

Navy Lodge Ford Island, part of Navy Exchange Service Command, seeks a Maintenance Manager to oversee daily maintenance of a 200+ room NHG property, ensuring safety, quality, and guest satisfaction.

Responsibilities include planning and supervising a broad program, coordinating with Public Works and NAVFAC, using the PMS, conducting inspections, managing staff, and preparing cost estimates for in-house and contractor work; supervisory experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Three years of experience in general maintenance practices involving upkeep of buildings, grounds, fixtures, equipment, etc.
• One year of high school education may be substituted for 3 months of general experience up to a High School Diploma or GED for one year of general experience.
• One year of general maintenance work involving various trade practices (air conditioning/refrigeration, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, masonry, painting); knowledge of safety and environmental rules; supervision of staff.

Responsibilities

• Develop, organize, coordinate, execute, and supervise a comprehensive maintenance, repair, and renovation program; provide input for short/long-range planning.
• Use the PMS to access guest room information, occupancy data, and room status; manage out-of-order inventory.
• Plan and schedule daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly maintenance work; adjust staffing to meet workload.
• Coordinate with Public Works, NAVFAC planners and outside organizations on maintenance in NHG facilities.
• Perform inspections of facilities and common areas; follow up on corrective actions to ensure completion and guest satisfaction.
• Ensure compliance with SOPs, safety requirements, training of maintenance staff, and inventory/maintenance of tools and equipment.
• Handle supervisory actions including cost estimates for in-house projects and contractor proposals; coordinate interviews and leaves.
• Counsel and evaluate staff; ensure training completion; consider awards; manage leave to meet program requirements.
• Address staff suggestions/complaints; maintain EE0 concepts and a safe work environment.
• Ensure guest security and privacy at all times.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
