Job summary

Irving Knight Group is seeking a seasoned Maintenance Manager for a cement plant to lead mechanical, electrical, and preventive maintenance, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient operations. You will drive daily planning, supervision, and budgeting while coordinating with production teams to minimize downtime.

Ideal candidates bring 10+ years of maintenance experience, 5+ years of leadership, and a mechanical engineering background.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years maintenance experience, cement plant preferred.
  • 5+ years management/supervisory experience.
  • Bachelor's degree; mechanical engineering preferred.
  • US citizen or Green Card holder.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all mechanical, electrical, and preventive maintenance activities across the cement plant to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations
  • Lead daily maintenance planning, scheduling, and execution for kilns, mills, crushers, conveyors, fans, pumps, baghouses, and other plant equipment
  • Manage a team of maintenance supervisors, mechanics, electricians, and contractors
  • Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs to reduce downtime and improve equipment reliability
  • Troubleshoot and resolve equipment failures quickly to minimize production interruptions
  • Partner with production, operations, and reliability teams to coordinate maintenance work and shutdown planning
  • Monitor maintenance KPIs such as downtime, MTBF, MTTR, work order completion, and maintenance costs
  • Oversee spare parts inventory, critical spares strategy, and maintenance purchasing to support plant uptime
  • Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory requirements, including lockout/tagout and confined space procedures
  • Support and manage major shutdowns, rebuilds, and capital projects
  • Review equipment condition, identify root causes of recurring failures, and drive long term corrective actions
  • Manage maintenance budgets, labor utilization, contractor performance, and cost control
  • Promote a strong safety culture and ensure maintenance work is performed in accordance with company standards
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records in the CMMS/EAM system and drive disciplined work order management

Requirements
