Mercy Housing in San Francisco’s Design District seeks an on-site Maintenance Manager to oversee maintenance, vendor contracts, and the budget for a 600 Seventh Street mixed-use community with 220 affordable homes.

This role requires a High School diploma and 3 years of skilled maintenance experience, with the ability to lead and coordinate turnover work for new residents and perform routine trades tasks.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work in a collaborative team environment.
• Strong English communication skills required.
• Basic math and measurement concepts needed for trades.
• Ability to read and interpret simple diagrams/blueprints.

Responsibilities

• Patch and paint walls, trim, and ceilings.
• Clean, repair, and maintain appliances.
• Prepare units for new residents, including turnover work.
• Perform routine plumbing and electrical repairs.
• Manage day-to-day maintenance functions.
• Assist with maintenance budget oversight.
• Coordinate and manage vendor contracts with the property management team.

The Maintenance Manager will work in collaboration with property management to oversee building maintenance functions, budget, and vendor contracts for 600 7th Street. Located in San Francisco’s Design District, 600 Seventh is a mixed-use, mixed-income community offering 220 brand-new affordable homes for families earning up to 80% of San Francisco’s median income, as well as formerly homeless families and single adults.

Pay:

$35.00 - 37.50 dependent on experience

Duties (Normal day activities)

• Patch and paint walls, trim, and ceilings.

• Assist with maintenance budget oversight.

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Three (3) years of experience in skilled maintenance work.
• Technical expertise in one or more building trade.
• Legally operate a motor vehicle

Preferred Qualifications

• Technical certifications.

Knowledge And Skills

• Work in a collaborative manner and in a team environment.
• Comprehend and communicate in the English language, both orally and in writing. Present information to groups of people.
• Perform basic math and understand measurement systems used in the trade.
• Read and interpret electrical, plumbing, and mechanical diagrams and blueprints. Draft working sketches.
• Use maintenance, trade, and testing equipment and tools.
• Effectively oversee work progress of vendors or outside contractors.
• Legally operate a motor vehicle
