Job summary

Acuity Brands is seeking a Maintenance Supervisor in Newark, Ohio to lead the maintenance department and oversee preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance of production machinery and facility equipment.

You will manage 14–18 direct reports, coordinate with vendors, enforce safety policies under OSHA rules, and drive energy efficiency while keeping operations at high readiness in a 24/7 manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 6+ years of manufacturing experience.
• 5+ years in a leadership role, managing hourly and salaried staff.
• Proven conflict resolution skills for difficult conversations.
• Experience with order/resource management and third-party vendors.
• LEAN principles and a team-oriented mindset.
• Technical aptitude and proficiency with Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the Maintenance Department and workload.
• Ensure preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance of production machinery.
• Coordinate with vendors and contract staff for site services.
• Enforce safety policies to comply with OSHA rules.
• Maintain high equipment readiness and energy‑use efficiency.
• Develop and mentor a 14–18 person maintenance team.
