Job summary

Sibelco, a global leader in specialty industrial minerals, seeks a Maintenance Manager for our Wilson, NC plant. You will lead the maintenance team, deploy TPM processes across several facilities, and collaborate with regional teams to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations.

Strong leadership and deep mechanical/electrical expertise are required. Responsibilities include overseeing preventive maintenance, managing SAP CMMS assets and budgets, and driving continuous improvement

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or related technical field.
8–10+ years of maintenance experience including 3–5 years in supervisory roles.
Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Six Sigma certifications are a plus.
Experience with 480V/3/60 electrical systems and reading drawings/schematics.
ERP/SAP CMMS experience and ability to manage capital assets.

Responsibilities

Lead plant maintenance team to maintain, troubleshoot and repair equipment.
Enforce safe practices within the department and train staff on safety.
Develop and refine maintenance planning and preventive maintenance programs.
Oversee TPM implementation across multiple facilities and coordinate with regional plants.
Manage CMMS (SAP) for asset tracking, life expectancy and maintenance budgets.
Develop root-cause analysis (8D) for quality, yield, and uptime issues.
Manage vendor relationships and spare parts inventory; supervise maintenance staff.

As an integral part of the Wilson, NC Plant the Maintenance Manager will be responsible for executing on the deployment of Total Prevention Maintenance (TPM) processes across more than 30 recycled glass processing plants a complex recycled glass processing facility, including process development, training, and compliance auditing. Provide support to Collaborating with Sibelco glass processing plants, regionally and nationwide, in the operation and maintenance of optical sorting machines and other industrial equipment

Your Impact in This Role

Report to the Plant Manager and lead the plant maintenance team to maintain, troubleshoot and repair the plant equipment.
Practice and enforce safe practices within your department
Train employees on safety and best practices
Ensure employees are trained on job specific assignments
Maintenance of pneumatic valves on optical sorting machines
Audit plant performance at completing maintenance tasks.
Become a subject-matter expert in the operation and troubleshooting of optical sorting machines from multiple manufacturers.
Calculate and issue monthly fuel surcharge updates
Champions and supports Lean and Continuous Improvement Initiatives
Change belts and idler pulleys on trough-style conveyors
Develop and refine maintenance planning processes; and preventive maintenance program for mechanical and electrical equipment
Evaluate and ensure the quality of maintenance performed by internal plant maintenance teams and external vendors.
Identify plant performance issues and provide recommendations for equipment and design changes to correct them.
Lead plants in performing root cause analysis (8D process) of issues involving quality, yield, and uptime
Manage company-wide system CMMS (SAP) to track capital assets, life expectancy, and repair and maintenance (R&M) budget and costs.
Manage equipment vendor relationships with major equipment suppliers; global spare parts program; spare parts inventory - order parts as needed, determine and manage stocking levels
Oversee maintenance of forklifts and loaders and other mobile equipment
Part number administration and entry
Perform hands-on escalated maintenance troubleshooting and repairs; periodic preventive maintenance checks as required; basic electrical troubleshooting and repairs
Provide coaching, training, and accountability to plant maintenance managers personnel, and assist in hiring of new plant maintenance manager personnel.
Reportable Reports Administration - adding new reports, adding users, report maintenance, managing user report access in CMMS (SAP)
Support Continuous Improvement initiatives; emergency repair process; provide plant managers and plant maintenance teams with first-line escalation support during equipment failures.
Track equipment status, redistribute maintenance and spare-parts assets, and expedite high-priority repair efforts to maximize plant uptime performance.
Supervise and lead plant maintenance team

What You Bring to the Table

Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field
Preferred 8-10+ years of Maintenance experience including 3-5 years of Supervisory experience
Lean Manufacturing experience, 5s, and/or Six Sigma certification a plus
College Degree or technical training, preferred.
480vAC/3/60 3ph electrical troubleshooting
Ability to lead and direct the work of others
Ability to manage time and prioritize effectively
Ability to read mechanical and electrical drawings and schematics preferred
Able to work safely and efficiently
Advanced mechanical and electrical maintenance skills
ERP systems experience (SAP a plus)
Excellent communication and people skills interpersonal communication skills
Experience with TPM Maintenance Program

Salary
