Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership for all maintenance activities ensuring safe, efficient plant operations.
  • Drive continuous improvement to reduce downtime and improve equipment performance.
  • Develop preventive and predictive maintenance programs using CMMS, manage work orders and parts.
  • Lead root cause analysis and implement corrective actions to prevent failures.
  • Manage maintenance budgets and annual repair/capital plans.
  • Hire, coach, and develop maintenance staff and plan training.
  • Collaborate with production and cross-functional teams on priorities.

Job description

We are partnering with a well-established food manufacturing organization seeking a Maintenance Manager to lead maintenance operations at a high-volume production facility. This individual will be responsible for driving equipment reliability, developing maintenance strategies, managing departmental budgets, and leading a team of maintenance professionals in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide leadership and oversight for all maintenance activities, ensuring safe, efficient, and reliable plant operations.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on reducing downtime, improving equipment performance, and increasing overall operational efficiency.
  • Develop and manage preventive and predictive maintenance programs through a CMMS system, including work order management, parts inventory, labor planning, and equipment history.
  • Lead root cause analysis efforts and implement corrective actions to prevent recurring equipment failures.
  • Respond to critical equipment issues with urgency while prioritizing food safety, employee safety, and equipment reliability.
  • Manage departmental budgets, monitor maintenance spending, and develop annual repair and capital improvement plans.
  • Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, repair costs, and equipment performance metrics.
  • Hire, develop, coach, and evaluate maintenance team members while creating training and succession planning initiatives.
  • Partner closely with production and other cross-functional departments to ensure alignment on operational goals and maintenance priorities.
  • Promote a culture of accountability, communication, safety, quality, and operational excellence.
  • Ensure housekeeping, maintenance standards, and equipment reliability targets are consistently achieved.
Ideal Background
  • Proven maintenance leadership experience within a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, plumbing, refrigeration, building systems, and industrial equipment maintenance.
  • Experience implementing and managing CMMS-driven maintenance programs.
  • Demonstrated success leading maintenance teams, driving performance, and developing technical talent.
  • Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and continuous improvement capabilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of organization and execution.
  • Excellent communication and cross-functional leadership skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and maintenance management systems.
Preferred Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline preferred.
  • Previous maintenance supervisory or management experience in food manufacturing highly preferred.
  • Experience supporting high-speed production operations is strongly desired.
