MTNA, Inc. in Rancho Cucamonga is seeking a Maintenance Manager to lead maintenance operations across a three-shift production facility.

You will ensure safe, reliable, and efficient equipment operation while coaching technicians and collaborating with Operations to meet production goals. The role demands hands-on leadership, TPM-driven improvements, budget oversight, and the ability to adapt to extended hours and weekend requirements.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of maintenance leadership in a high-volume production or manufacturing setting.

Job Overview

The Maintenance Manager is responsible for leading maintenance operations across a three-shift production facility, ensuring the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of equipment, infrastructure, and maintenance systems.

This is a high-accountability, hands-on leadership position requiring a strong and consistent presence on the production floor. The Maintenance Manager is expected to work closely with technicians and Operations, actively participate in troubleshooting and problem-solving, and take ownership of issues through resolution. This is not a traditional desk-based management role.

The position combines strategic planning with day-to-day operational leadership to maximize equipment uptime, improve asset performance, control costs, develop the maintenance team, and support production objectives.

The Maintenance Manager maintains a visible onsite presence during core business hours, generally 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.; however, these hours should not be considered a fixed work schedule. This is a salaried, exempt leadership position, and work hours will vary based on operational and business needs.

The successful candidate must be comfortable working extended hours, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends when necessary, and must be available after hours to provide leadership, troubleshooting support, or escalation assistance when significant equipment or operational issues arise.

Success in this role requires strong technical expertise, initiative, urgency, sound judgment, flexibility, and the ability to operate independently without requiring continuous direction.

Leadership & Schedule Expectations

Candidates should understand the demands of the position before applying. This role supports a multi-shift production operation where priorities can change quickly and additional hours may be necessary to maintain equipment reliability and support production.

The successful candidate will be expected to:

• Maintain a strong and consistent presence on the production floor.
• Take initiative and identify issues before they become larger operational problems.
• Work independently and make sound decisions without requiring continuous direction.
• Work hands-on alongside maintenance technicians when troubleshooting, repairs, or operational needs require additional support.
• Take ownership of problems from identification through resolution.
• Communicate equipment status, priorities, downtime, repair progress, and expected completion times to Operations and Leadership.
• Adjust work schedule as necessary to support all shifts and changing operational priorities.
• Work extended hours, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends, when required by operational needs.
• Be available after hours when necessary to provide leadership, direction, troubleshooting support, or escalation assistance.
• Provide onsite support outside regular business hours when circumstances require leadership presence.
• Support equipment breakdowns, emergency repairs, preventive maintenance activities, shutdowns, installations, projects, and other business-critical needs.
• Demonstrate a high degree of flexibility, responsiveness, ownership, and personal accountability.

What You’ll Do

As the Maintenance Manager, you will:

• Lead, coach, and develop maintenance technicians and sanitation personnel.
• Foster a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
• Provide leadership and direction for maintenance activities across all three shifts.
• Oversee mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic maintenance functions.
• Manage preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance programs to maximize equipment reliability and uptime.
• Prioritize daily maintenance activities, work orders, and emergency repairs to minimize downtime.
• Manage departmental budgets, maintenance spending, and inventory controls.
• Hold team members accountable for performance, attendance, work quality, and compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Analyze equipment failures and implement effective corrective and preventive actions.
• Support equipment installations, commissioning activities, and capital improvement projects.
• Collaborate with Operations and other departments to support production objectives.
• Partner with maintenance teams across MTNA locations to share best practices and technical expertise.
• Identify opportunities to improve reliability, efficiency, and cost performance through Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) principles.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Bring

• Technical degree and completion of a craft apprenticeship, or equivalent combination of education and maintenance experience.
• Associate degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial Maintenance, or a related field preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of maintenance leadership experience in a high-volume production, food processing, logistics, manufacturing, or industrial environment.
• Experience leading maintenance teams within a multi-shift or 24/7 operation.
• Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and automated systems.
• Strong electrical troubleshooting capabilities highly preferred.
• Experience managing preventive and predictive maintenance programs and utilizing CMMS software.
• Proven ability to manage budgets, control costs, and drive operational improvements.
• Strong leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to coach, train, develop, and hold employees accountable.
• Excellent troubleshooting, root cause analysis, and problem-solving abilities.
• Self-driven approach with the ability to identify priorities and take action with limited supervision.
• Ability to remain effective in a demanding environment with rapidly changing priorities.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work across all organizational levels.
• Bilingual English/Spanish proficiency strongly preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Excel, Word, and Teams.
• Flexibility to work extended hours, weekends, and outside regular business hours based on operational needs.
• Ability to provide after-hours leadership and support when significant maintenance or operational issues arise.

Physical Requirements

This is an active, hands-on leadership position requiring regular time in the production and maintenance environment.

The role requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, climbing, and lifting items over 50 pounds. Exposure to noise, moving mechanical parts, varying temperatures, fumes, and vibration may occur. Required PPE, including safety glasses and safety shoes, must be worn as applicable.

Extended hours, early mornings, evenings, weekends, and after-hours support may be required based on operational needs.
