Maintenance Manager
Position Overview
We are seeking a proactive, experienced Maintenance Manager to lead our maintenance and facilities teams, ensuring reliable operation of equipment and safe, efficient facility conditions. The role focuses on preventive and corrective maintenance, supervision of technicians, development of maintenance programs, and continuous improvement of reliability, with a strong emphasis on PLC troubleshooting and systems integration.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement and manage preventive and predictive maintenance programs to maximize equipment uptime and extend asset life
- Supervise, mentor and schedule maintenance technicians and contractors to ensure timely completion of work orders and adherence to safety protocols
- Troubleshoot, program, and repair PLC systems, control panels and related automation components to minimize downtime
- Oversee facility maintenance including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and building systems to maintain a safe and compliant environment
- Coordinate maintenance activities with production schedules to minimize disruptions and optimize resource allocation
- Manage spare parts inventory, procurement and vendor relationships to support efficient maintenance operations
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives, root cause analysis, and reliability-centered maintenance practices
- Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental and regulatory requirements and maintain accurate maintenance documentation and records
- Prepare and manage maintenance budgets, track key performance indicators (KPIs) and report on maintenance performance to leadership
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, Industrial Maintenance or related field preferred, or equivalent experience
- 5+ years of progressive maintenance experience with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial role
- Hands-on experience with PLCs, industrial control systems, and automation troubleshooting (programming and diagnostics)
- Strong mechanical and electrical diagnostic skills across facility and production equipment
- Proven experience developing and implementing preventive/predictive maintenance programs and reliability initiatives
- Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and maintenance documentation best practices
- Excellent leadership, communication and team-building skills with a focus on safety and continuous improvement
- Ability to read electrical and mechanical schematics, and to work flexible hours including on-call support as required
- Relevant certifications (e.g., OSHA, NFPA 70E, CMRP, PLC vendor certifications) are a plus
