Job summary

Graphic Packaging International is seeking a maintenance leader to manage and develop the maintenance team at our plant in Omaha. You will plan, schedule, and execute preventive and predictive maintenance across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems to minimize downtime and extend asset life.

You will oversee a staff of maintenance professionals, prioritize work orders, and coordinate with other departments to ensure safe, compliant operations in a fast-paced manufacturing

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field is preferred or equivalent work experience.
  • 5–7 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing setting.
  • 3+ years of leadership overseeing maintenance teams.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Experience developing and managing preventive/predictive maintenance programs using a CMMS.

Responsibilities

  • Direct and supervise maintenance staff to ensure safe, efficient operations.
  • Plan and prioritize work orders to minimize downtime and disruptions.
  • Coach and develop employees; manage performance and training.
  • Oversee budgeting and resource allocation for maintenance activities.
  • Collaborate with other departments to optimize plant reliability.

Manages repair and maintenance of manufacturing facilities and equipment including: Installing, repairing, and maintaining mechanical and electronic equipment, tools, and instruments. Installing, repairing, and maintaining manufacturing facilities infrastructure. Making/machining replacement tools and parts for manufacturing operations. Planning and prioritizing work orders and scheduling overall repair and maintenance activities to minimize production downtime and disruptions.

  • Manages experienced professionals and/or supervisors who exercise latitude and independence in their assignments.

  • Works on issues of diverse scope; analysis of situations or data requires evaluation of a variety of factors, including an understanding of concepts, theories, and principles in own discipline and a basic knowledge of other disciplines.

  • Acts as advisor to subordinate(s} to meet schedules and/or resolve technical problems.
  • Applies understanding of the business and how area of responsibility integrates with other areas to achieve department objectives.

  • Develops and administers schedules, performance requirements; may have budget responsibilities.
  • Assignments are defined by activities and objectives; work is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives.

  • Errors in judgment or failure to achieve results may cause serious delays and considerable expenditure of resources.

Safe Quality Food Responsibilities For All Employees
  • Follow all Plant rules, Processes, Hygiene, and Allergens procedures, related to production of Safe Quality Foods.
  • Report to person of authority to record any potentially unsafe conditions which may result in unsafe foods or noncompliance to SQF related procedures.
  • Participate in SQF Root Cause and Corrective Actions (from customer complaints, SQF audits, validation, and verification activities) as required.
  • Follow all procedures related to producing Safe Quality Foods (SQF}.
  • Report any potentially unsafe SQF conditions or customer complaints to a person of authority to record and/or correct the situation.
Position Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field is a plus; equivalent work experience accepted in lieu of degree.
  • 5–7 years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing or similar industrial environment.
  • 3+ years of leadership experience overseeing maintenance teams or skilled trades.
  • Strong working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems used in production settings.
  • Experience developing and managing preventive and predictive maintenance programs using a CMMS.

Pay Range: $106,400.00 - $141,900.00
