Job summary

FirstFour Staffing seeks an experienced Maintenance Leader in Mobile, AL to guide a team of maintenance professionals and drive reliability improvements. This role focuses on proactive maintenance, TPM, and lean practices to improve equipment availability and plant performance.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of leadership in heavy industrial settings, with hands-on experience in CMMS platforms and root-cause analysis to reduce downtime and improve safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership, coaching, and mentorship to a team of maintenance professionals.
• Drive prevention and predictive maintenance programs to reduce downtime.
• Champion TPM, lean practices, and 5S within the maintenance shop.
• Manage budgets, contractor services, and capital projects; ensure safety and compliance.

Job description

• Provide leadership, coaching, and mentorship to a team of maintenance professionals.
• Build a culture focused on accountability, safety, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
• Evaluate team capabilities, identify skill gaps, and implement training and cross-training initiatives.
• Ensure disciplined use of the CMMS for all maintenance planning, scheduling, and documentation.

Drive Preventive & Predictive Maintenance

• Transform the maintenance organization from reactive repairs to proactive reliability.
• Develop and improve preventive and predictive maintenance programs for critical plant equipment.
• Improve spare parts management through inventory optimization and critical spare strategies.
• Reduce downtime while improving equipment reliability and plant availability.

Champion Lean Manufacturing

• Implement and sustain Total Productive Maintenance (TPM).
• Lead Root Cause Analysis (5 Whys, Fishbone, etc.) for equipment failures.
• Establish and maintain 5S standards throughout the maintenance shop.
• Partner with production to develop autonomous maintenance practices.

Improve Reliability & Plant Performance

• Increase Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
• Manage maintenance budgets, contractor services, and capital improvement projects.
• Ensure compliance with all safety, environmental, and company standards.
• Develop long-term maintenance strategies that support operational growth and profitability.

Qualifications

Required

• 5+ years of maintenance leadership experience in heavy industrial manufacturing
• Experience managing maintenance teams in industries such as:
• Strong background in preventive and predictive maintenance
• Experience with CMMS platforms (SAP, Maximo, eMaint, Fiix, etc.)
• Heavy rotating equipment
• PLCs
• Electrical distribution systems
• Proven leadership experience managing and developing maintenance technicians
