Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience in manufacturing or heavy industrial environments.
  • Strong knowledge of maintenance strategies, reliability, and asset management.
  • Experience using CMMS systems.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Lead safety culture focused on OSHA compliance and housekeeping.
  • Oversee maintenance for galvanizing line equipment and facilities.
  • Develop and implement preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
  • Drive equipment reliability through root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Manage spare parts, metrics, and CMMS usage.
  • Lead maintenance training and develop the team.
  • Support CAPEX projects with Engineering and Production.
  • Collaborate with Engineering/Production to resolve issues affecting uptime and quality.
  • Monitor budgets, costs, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Foster accountability, engagement and Lean improvements.

Job description

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to lead maintenance, reliability, and continuous improvement efforts for operations in a heavy industrial manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for ensuring safe operations, maximizing equipment uptime, controlling maintenance costs, and developing a high-performing maintenance team.

The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise, proven leadership experience, and a hands‑on approach to maintenance strategy and execution.

Key Responsibilities
Safety & Compliance
  • Lead and promote a strong safety culture focused on OSHA compliance and housekeeping excellence.
  • Ensure adherence to all company safety policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead incident investigations and corrective action implementation.
Maintenance & Reliability
  • Manage all maintenance activities for galvanizing line equipment.
  • Develop and execute preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
  • Drive equipment reliability through root cause failure analysis and corrective actions.
  • Oversee spare parts inventory, equipment reliability metrics, and CMMS utilization.
  • Lead maintenance training and skills development programs.
  • Support and manage capital projects (CAPEX) in collaboration with Engineering.
Quality & Operations Support
  • Ensure maintenance practices support compliance with ASTM and internal quality standards.
  • Partner with Engineering and Production to resolve equipment and process issues.
  • Support production uptime, throughput, and product quality objectives.
Cost & Resource Management
  • Manage maintenance budgets, consumables, and departmental spending.
  • Identify and implement cost-reduction and efficiency initiatives.
  • Track and improve maintenance cost per ton, downtime, and waste metrics.
Leadership & Team Development
  • Lead, coach, and develop supervisors, technicians, and maintenance personnel.
  • Conduct performance reviews and ongoing skills assessments.
  • Build a culture of accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement.
  • Drive reliability, Lean, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Eliminate recurring equipment failures through structured problem‑solving.
  • Improve maintenance effectiveness and operational efficiency.
Qualifications
Required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of leadership experience in manufacturing or heavy industrial environments.
  • Strong knowledge of maintenance strategies, reliability, and asset management.
  • Experience using CMMS systems.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and problem‑solving skills.
Preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Automation Engineering.
  • Prior hands‑on mechanical or electrical maintenance experience.
  • Experience with AutoCAD or similar design software.
  • Lean manufacturing, TPM, or reliability‑centered maintenance experience.
  • Strong organizational and time‑management skills.
