Qualifications

Requirements :

  • Experience : 10+ years of progressive experience in Maintenance. 5+ years of experience as a Maintenance Manager or equivalent is preferred.
  • High-speed bottling and packaging (automation) experience is required.
  • Expertise with fillers, packers, cappers, PLC's, CMMS, etc. is required.
  • Experience with people management and budgets is required.
  • Facilities experience including boilers, HVAC, and electrical is a plus.
  • Education : High School Diploma or equivalent is required. Bachelor's Degree is preferred.
  • Language : Bilingual, English & Spanish is preferred, but not required.

Job Description :

The Maintenance Manager will oversee, coordinate, and lead activities of Maintenance Technicians engaged in maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and rebuilding bottling, packaging, and capping equipment, as well as facilities and utilities

  • Develop, implement, and oversee preventive maintenance programs for all bottling line equipment and facility infrastructure
  • Manage and direct a team of maintenance technicians and specialists, including hiring, training, scheduling, and performance evaluation
  • Coordinate with production and quality assurance teams to ensure uninterrupted operations and adherence to quality standards
  • Oversee the installation, maintenance, and repair of machinery, equipment, electrical and mechanical systems
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, health, and environmental regulations and practices
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, reduce costs, and improve equipment reliability and longevity
  • Prepare and present regular reports on maintenance activities, equipment status, and operational challenges to senior management

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities :

  • Technical Expertise : In-depth knowledge of mechanical and electrical engineering principles, especially as they apply to bottling machinery and systems, including conveyors, fillers, cappers, labelers, and packaging equipment
  • Maintenance Best Practices : Familiarity with preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance strategies and the ability to develop and implement these programs effectively
  • Safety and Compliance : Understanding of occupational safety and health regulations, environmental laws, and industry standards related to bottling plant operations. Knowledge of HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point), GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), and OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) standards is crucial
  • Quality Control : Knowledge of quality assurance principles and practices to ensure product integrity and compliance with customer specifications
  • Project Management : Understanding of project management principles, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation
  • Technology : Familiarity with the latest in bottling technology, automation, and software used for maintenance management (e.g., CMMS - Computerized Maintenance Management Systems)
  • Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills : Ability to diagnose complex issues, analyze data, and formulate effective solutions quickly
  • Leadership and Management : Strong leadership skills to motivate and manage a diverse team of technicians, fostering a positive work environment and encouraging continuous improvement
  • Communication : Excellent verbal and written communication skills for interacting with team members, other departments, vendors, and senior management
  • Technical Proficiency : Hands-on skills in troubleshooting and repairing mechanical and electrical systems, with the ability to teach these skills to others
