Position Overview
Sedgebrook Senior Living in Lincolnshire is recruiting a strong, forward‑thinking leader to twin their team. The Maintenance Manager is responsible for keeping our community safe, well‑maintained, and fully compliant with all federal, state, and local regulations. This role leads all maintenance operations, oversees the physical plant, manages staff and budgets, and ensures a high‑quality environment for residents, guests, and employees.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily maintenance of buildings, grounds, equipment, and systems to ensure a safe, clean, and welcoming environment
- Lead, hire, train, and supervise maintenance, landscaping, and painter staff
- Ensure compliance with life safety, OSHA, emergency preparedness, and other regulatory requirements
- Develop and manage departmental budgets, capital plans, and vendor contracts
- Coordinate preventive maintenance, repairs, refurbishments, and emergency response
- Partner with leadership, residents, and other departments to support community operations
- Implement policies, procedures, and quality controls to improve efficiency and service
- Prepare staff for growth through training and succession planning

Qualifications
- Strong leadership and hands‑on maintenance experience
- Knowledge of building systems, safety regulations, and preventive maintenance
- Ability to manage budgets, vendors, and multiple priorities
- Commitment to service excellence and teamwork
- Understands the importance of data to help drive better processes
- High school education required with thorough knowledge of plant operations and engineering; Bachelor’s degree in engineering or certification in HVAC or related field preferred
- At least five years’ experience in plant engineering and/or trades such as plumbing, electrical, painting, carpentry, refrigeration, masonry or maintenance, and three years of supervisory experience
- Ability to read, interpret general business periodicals or governmental regulations; read blueprints and mechanical drawings; write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
- Ability to effectively communicate with and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and the public
- Previous experience in the healthcare field and/or with an elderly population preferred; knowledge of fire safety and MSDS training also preferred
