Job summary

iCare Health Network is seeking a Maintenance Manager to direct physical plant upkeep, grounds, utilities, and mechanical/electric systems at a nursing home. You will oversee maintenance staff and coordinate preventive maintenance and safety compliance.

With strong supervisory and budgeting skills, you’ll train staff, manage supplies, work with the Administrator, and ensure high-quality outcomes for residents and staff alike in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Four years' experience in maintenance work.
• Experience in mechanical, electrical, construction, plant maintenance and HVAC.
• Proficiency in English (speaking, reading, and writing).
• Knowledge of state and federal building codes.
• Supervisory experience in the maintenance field.

Responsibilities

• Direct and supervise maintenance staff and ensure facilities are maintained.
• Review and maintain preventive maintenance logs and scheduled work.
• Provide training and development to maintenance staff.
• Repair work on wheelchairs, beds, appliances, and HVAC units.
• Manage budget, order supplies, and plan future projects.
• Collaborate with Administrator on staff relations.
• Maintain a positive attitude toward residents, staff, and visitors.

Summary

The primary role of the Maintenance Manager is to direct and conduct physical plant maintenance and grounds upkeep at a nursing home. Maintenance includes building improvements, grounds, utilities, and mechanical/electric systems.

Responsibilities

• Manages maintenance staff and ensures assigned building, grounds and facilities are maintained at all times.
• Reviews and maintains preventive maintenance logs and ensure that preventative maintenance is being done on a regularly scheduled basis.
• Responsible for providing training and development to all maintenance staff such as basic plumbing and electrical in accordance with regulations and company policies.
• Ensures that all repair work is completed on wheelchairs, beds, furniture, dryers, air conditioning units, refrigerators, freezers, floors, and ceilings.
• With Administrator oversight, is responsible for Maintenance staff employee relations.
• Works closely with the Administrator to manage and operate within the allotted budget, including ordering supplies and equipment and planning for future projects.
• Maintains a positive and respectful attitude towards management, residents, employees, and visitors.

Qualifications

• A minimum of four years' experience in maintenance work, required.
• Experience in mechanical, electrical, construction, plant maintenance and HVAC, required.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Outlook and Excel, required.
• Knowledge of state and federal building codes, required.
• Supervisory experience in the maintenance field, required.
• Proficiency in English, including speaking, reading, and writing, required.
