Job summary

iCare Health Network in Hartford, CT is seeking a Maintenance Manager to direct physical plant maintenance and grounds upkeep at a nursing home, including building improvements and HVAC systems.

You will supervise maintenance staff, manage preventive maintenance, and work with administration on budget and projects. Strong knowledge of building codes and MS Office is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum four years' experience in maintenance work.
• Experience with mechanical, electrical, construction, plant maintenance and HVAC.
• Proficient in MS Word, Outlook, and Excel.
• Knowledge of state and federal building codes.
• Previous supervisory experience in maintenance.
• Strong English speaking, reading and writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Direct maintenance staff and ensure facilities are maintained.
• Review preventive maintenance logs and ensure scheduled tasks are performed.
• Provide training in basic plumbing and electrical to staff.
• Oversee repairs on equipment and facilities (wheelchairs, beds, furniture, appliances).
• Manage staff relations with Administrator.
• Work with Administrator to manage budget and procure supplies and plan future projects.
• Maintain a positive attitude towards residents, employees, and visitors.

Job description

Summary: The primary role of the Maintenance Manager is to direct and conduct physical plant maintenance and grounds upkeep at a nursing home. Maintenance includes building improvements, grounds, utilities, and mechanical/electric systems.

Responsibilities:

• Manages maintenance staff and ensures assigned building, grounds and facilities are maintained at all times.
• Reviews and maintains preventive maintenance logs and ensure that preventative maintenance is being done on a regularly scheduled basis.
• Responsible for providing training and development to all maintenance staff such as basic plumbing and electrical in accordance with regulations and company policies.
• Ensures that all repair work is completed on wheelchairs, beds, furniture, dryers, air conditioning units, refrigerators, freezers, floors, and ceilings.
• With Administrator oversight, is responsible for Maintenance staff employee relations.
• Works closely with the Administrator to manage and operate within the allotted budget, including ordering supplies and equipment and planning for future projects.
• Maintains a positive and respectful attitude towards management, residents, employees, and visitors.

Qualifications:
