Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or 5+ years in manufacturing with HS.

Responsibilities

Position Summary And Purpose

The Maintenance Manager provides front‑line leadership to a team of skilled mechanical and electrical personnel supporting the manufacturing team. This role is a critical partner to operations, functioning within a matrixed environment to meet company goals. The successful candidate will be a technical leader capable of managing daily maintenance activities while spearheading the full lifecycle of Capital Expenditure (CapEx) projects—from strategic planning and competitive bidding to final project execution.

Duties And Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Development
Daily Supervision
  • Lead maintenance personnel in daily operations, ensuring strong integration with cross‑functional stakeholders.
Performance Management
  • Manage an hourly/union workforce, fostering a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement.
Strategic Communication
  • Effectively communicate business goals, programs, and processes consistently across the team.
Operational Excellence & Reliability
Reliability Management
  • Drive the implementation of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) and improve equipment maintainability to reduce downtime.
CMMS Administration
  • Standardize maintenance programs and procedures across the facility using Computerized Maintenance Management Software (CMMS).
Backlog Oversight
  • Monitor preventative maintenance backlogs to ensure 100% timely completion.
Metrics & KPIs
  • Establish and track key metrics to ensure all maintenance activities meet business, employee, and customer expectations.
Project & CapEx Management
Full Lifecycle Oversight
  • Lead maintenance engineering projects, including equipment rebuilds, retrofits, and new installations.
Financial Stewardship
  • Manage the CapEx process, including strategic planning, ROI analysis, competitive quoting/bidding, and budget tracking.
Execution
  • Ensure all capital projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to precise technical specifications.
Safety & Compliance
EHS Leadership
  • Ensure strict compliance with EHS safety standards, with a specific focus on equipment safety and machine guarding.
Required
Education
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university OR a High School Diploma/GED with a minimum of 5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
Experience
  • Minimum of 3 years of leadership experience in a maintenance or manufacturing setting.
Technical Proficiency
  • Strong background in electrical and mechanical systems.
CapEx Expertise
  • Proven experience leading capital projects from the planning and quoting phase through to execution.
Communication
  • Exceptional written and verbal skills; ability to lead and communicate at all levels, including shop‑floor personnel and C‑suite executives.
Labor Relations
  • Direct experience managing an hourly/union workforce is highly preferred.
Software Skills
  • Working knowledge of MS Office, AutoCAD, and MRP systems (training provided if needed).
Adaptability
  • Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment with constantly shifting priorities.
Physical Demands And Work Environment
Physical Demands

This position is very active and requires frequent standing, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing of ladders. Must be able to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs. frequently. Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

The noise level in the work environment can be loud occasionally. This is a high‑travel position with significant overnight travel required.
