Job summary

You will establish robust maintenance strategies, manage CMMS, and drive measurable improvements across MTBF and MTTR, collaborating with operations to meet key productivity goals.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering required; Mechanical or Electrical preferred.
  • 10 years of manufacturing experience.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with leadership abilities.
  • Proficiency with Word, Excel, Outlook and Teams.

Responsibilities

  • Establish a Communications Plan with Manufacturing Operations to optimize maintenance coordination.
  • Establish a disciplined PM system for Critical Equipment.
  • Measure and improve equipment uptime, MTTR and MTBF metrics.
  • Lead problem-solving efforts to improve maintenance performance.
  • Maintain EMAINT CMMS for work orders, parts, and history.

Job Purpose
Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Establish a Communications Plan with Manufacturing Operations that ensures the highest level of maintenance coordination and support to the shop floor operations.
  • Clear and Well Understood Priorities
  • Clear and Well Understood Maintenance Organization Performance Measures
  • Establish a System for Measuring, Analyzing and Improving Key Equipment Uptime in a way that reduces maintenance burden and improves plant productivity.
  • Measure MTTF (Mean Time To Fail) and MTTR (Mean Time To Repair)
  • Excel at Troubleshooting and developing Troubleshooting Skills within the Maintenance Organization
  • Lead Disciplined Problem Solving efforts to improve both
  • Become an expert in the DOS Maintenance initiatives and work collaboratively with Manufacturing Operations to effectively implement.
  • Establishes and maintains a computerized maintenance management system (EMAINT) for tracking work orders, spare parts, and maintenance history of plant equipment.
  • Establish a disciplined PM system for Critical Equipment.
  • Establish Priorities with Operations Leadership and a process for communicating those to all maintenance employees.
  • Analyze current spare parts spending and develop initiatives that reduce those costs.
  • Develop a strong staff that is motivated and capable of executing the maintenance initiatives and achieving the key maintenance objectives.

Supervisory Responsibilities:
  • Directly supervises maintenance staff.
  • Carries out responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.
  • Assists with interviewing, hiring, and training maintenance employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; and addressing complaints and resolving problems
Education and Qualifications
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in an Engineering Discipline is required; Mechanical or Electrical Engineering is Preferred, with 10 years of manufacturing experience
  • Excellent Fundamental Troubleshooting and Problem Solving Skills.
  • Must have expertise and proficiency with basic office computer software, e.g. Word, Excel, Outlook Email and Teams
  • Ability to develop and implement Maintenance strategies that improve key measures.
  • Ability to Develop both Teams and Individuals toward a High-Performance Environment in a Union Plant.
  • Ability to recognize improvement opportunities and the ambition to make a difference.
  • Leadership and Communication Skills necessary to engage and motivate all Maintenance Employees.
