Job description

The Maintenance Manager oversees mechanical and electrical maintenance activities across multi-shift operations at the ELM Site, supporting both long and short-term objectives. Responsibilities include initiating and executing preventative maintenance schedules, collaborating with Production Planning to maximize output, managing staffing, and serving as the Site Champion of the Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) Program. The role also involves managing spare parts inventories, scheduling vendor activities, working with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Purchasing on projects, ensuring safety standards, managing the Maintenance Department budget, and responding to emergencies during off-shift hours.

Key responsibilities as a Maintenance Manager include:

1. Supervising Maintenance Department in a multi-shift environment
2. Managing tooling and spare parts inventories
3. Expediting non-stock parts to maintain equipment uptime
4. Scheduling and tracking repairs for material handling equipment
5. Overseeing new equipment installation and process improvements
6. Managing plant shutdowns and coordinating related activities
7. Maintaining SAP system for Maintenance Management
8. Collaborating with Facility Engineering on projects
9. Conducting safety inspections, observations, and meetings
10. Leading cross-functional TPM Teams and supporting Kaizen events
11. Scheduling safety activities and repairs across the site
12. Managing the Plant Maintenance budget
13. Initiating purchase requisitions and approving invoices
14. Driving team performance through coaching, performance management, and recognition
15. Building effective internal and external relationships, including with union members
16. Scheduling vendor maintenance for production equipment

The ideal Maintenance Manager candidate will have:

• At least 8 years of industrial plant maintenance experience, with a minimum of five years in industrial management within a fast-paced union environment
• Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical maintenance processes
• Excellent supervisory and interpersonal skills
• Risk analysis and decision-making capabilities
• Experience with SAP Maintenance Module and Microsoft Office Suite
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• A proactive, organized, results-oriented approach with a high level of commitment
