Job Overview

The Maintenance Manager oversees mechanical/electrical maintenance activities across multi-shift operations, supporting ELM's long-term and short-term objectives. Responsibilities include initiating and executing preventative maintenance schedules, collaborating with Production Planning to maximize efficiency, managing staffing, and ensuring safety standards. The role also involves managing spare parts inventories, scheduling vendor activities, and working closely with Engineering, Manufacturing, and Purchasing on projects and new equipment installations. The Maintenance Manager is the site champion of the Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) Program and is responsible for the maintenance department's budget and responding to emergency facilities issues during off-shift hours.

Key Responsibilities

1. Supervise Maintenance Department across multiple shifts
2. Manage tooling and spare parts inventories
3. Coordinate non-stock parts expeditions and equipment repairs
4. Oversee new equipment installation and process improvements
5. Manage plant shutdowns and related activities
6. Maintain SAP Maintenance Management System
7. Collaborate on engineering projects
8. Conduct safety inspections and meetings
9. Lead TPM teams and support Kaizen events
10. Schedule safety activities and repairs
11. Manage maintenance budget and procurement processes
12. Develop team through coaching and performance management
13. Build relationships with internal and external partners
14. Maintain union relationships
15. Coordinate vendor maintenance activities

Qualifications

• 8+ years in industrial plant maintenance, with at least 5 years in management within a union environment
• Strong knowledge of mechanical and electrical processes
• Leadership and interpersonal skills
• Experience with risk analysis and decision-making
• Proficiency in SAP Maintenance Module and Microsoft Office
• Ability to work independently, proactively, and organized
