Job summary

Gilman Partners seeks a hands-on maintenance leader for a growing North American chemical manufacturing operation in the Cincinnati area. You will lead production equipment maintenance, plant systems, and infrastructure, and drive reliability improvements on the shop floor.

You will develop and manage preventive and predictive maintenance, administer CMMS, and monitor MTBF/MTTR/OEE while collaborating across Operations, Engineering, Quality, EHS, and HR.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field; equivalent education and experience considered.
  • 5+ years of maintenance experience in manufacturing with leadership responsibility.
  • Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting capabilities on production equipment.
  • Experience building and executing preventive & predictive maintenance programs.
  • CMMS experience for work order management, preventive maintenance, and history.
  • Working knowledge of PLCs, industrial controls, and high/low voltage systems.
  • Experience with TPM, OEE, Lean, 5S or similar continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Lead maintenance of production equipment, plant systems, infrastructure and support gear.
  • Coach and develop the maintenance team with clear expectations and accountability.
  • Develop and improve preventive and predictive maintenance programs to boost reliability.
  • Administer CMMS for work orders, prioritization, tracking and closure.
  • Advance TPM practices in partnership with Operations.
  • Monitor metrics like uptime, MTBF, MTTR, MTTCO, and OEE-related performance.
  • Oversee repairs, installations, and improvements of production machinery and electrical systems.
  • Manage spare parts, inventories, contractors, and service providers.
  • Collaborate with Operations, Engineering, Quality, EHS, and HR to support performance.
  • Maintain a strong floor presence and drive continuous improvement.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
  • Lead all aspects of facility maintenance, including production equipment, plant systems, infrastructure, and support equipment.
  • Lead, coach, and develop the maintenance team while establishing clear expectations, priorities, and accountability.
  • Develop and improve preventive and predictive maintenance programs that increase equipment reliability and minimize downtime.
  • Administer the CMMS and work order process, ensuring effective prioritization, tracking, documentation, and closure.
  • Establish and advance Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) practices in partnership with Operations.
  • Monitor key maintenance and reliability metrics, including equipment uptime, MTBF, MTTR, MTTCO, and OEE-related performance.
  • Oversee troubleshooting, repair, installation, and improvement of production machinery, electrical systems, and facility equipment.
  • Manage spare parts, maintenance inventories, purchasing, contractors, vendors, and service providers.
  • Partner cross-functionally with Operations, Engineering, Quality, EHS, and Human Resources to support safe and efficient plant performance.
  • Maintain a highly visible presence on the production floor while driving continuous improvement, equipment reliability, and maintenance execution.
IDEAL CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field preferred; equivalent education and experience will be strongly considered.
  • 5+ years of maintenance experience within a manufacturing environment, including responsibility for maintenance teams, programs, or operations.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with demonstrated experience troubleshooting and maintaining industrial manufacturing equipment.
  • Experience developing and executing preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
  • Experience utilizing a CMMS for work order management, preventive maintenance, and equipment history.
  • Working knowledge of PLCs, industrial controls, and high- and low-voltage electrical systems.
  • Experience with TPM, OEE, Lean Manufacturing, 5S, or similar continuous improvement practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to use maintenance and reliability metrics to improve equipment performance and reduce downtime.
  • Experience managing projects, contractors, spare parts, and maintenance-related costs.
