Job summary

Maker’s Pride in Carol Stream, IL is seeking a Maintenance Manager to lead, develop and execute all maintenance activities across production and packaging.

You will supervise about 35 maintenance staff, drive KPIs, manage PM programs and work orders, and ensure equipment reliability while upholding safety and GMP awareness.

The role reports to the Plant Manager and offers a competitive salary with a discretionary annual incentive and full benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a business or technical field or equivalent relevant work experience.
• Five to seven years of related experience with demonstrated leadership of a Maintenance department.
• Experience in food or pharmaceutical industries preferred.
• Must be detail-oriented with strong communication skills.
• Experience implementing CMMS and maintenance programs (predictive & preventive).

Job Summary

The Maintenance Manager is responsible for leading, developing, managing and executing all aspects for maintenance with customers, suppliers, local and corporate-wide Maker’s Pride employees and the manufacturing staff. The incumbent is also responsible for the supervising, training and mentoring members of the Maintenance department. This position exists to ensure the production equipment is properly maintained in order to produce and package all products. This position reports to the Plant Manager and oversees a team of around 35 maintenance team members.

Job Duties

Duties may include, but are not limited to the following:

• Responsible for leading, developing, managing and executing all aspects for maintenance with customers, suppliers, local and corporate-wide Maker’s Pride employees and the manufacturing staff.
• Responsible for the creation and delivery of all key performance indicators (KPIs) and objectives for the Maintenance department.
• Responsible for maintaining key equipment parts inventory, managing the Preventative Maintenance (PM) program, managing the Work Order system and managing the overall day-to-day activities of the Maintenance department.
• Develop, maintain and continuously improve on all standard operating procedures as they relate to our maintenance programs (predictive and preventative) to meet all company and customer requirements.
• Evaluate the performance of direct reports against their job requirements and performance goals.
• Requires partnering with Corporate regarding corporate programs and best practices.
• Maintain a safety, sanitation and GMP awareness within the department.

Required Knowledge & Competencies

• Maker’s Pride procurement, products and production processes
• Knowledge and experience with EAM and SAP
• Knowledge of OSHA regulations and standards
• Demonstrated proficiency in a multi-craft maintenance role and continuous improvement is required. Experience in PLC programming a plus.
• Demonstrated proficiency in developing both predictive and preventative maintenance programs.
• Maintaining harmonious relationships and effectively communicating with all customers, suppliers, local and corporate-wide employees and manufacturing staff.
• Be detailed-oriented, have strong self-confidence and leadership skills and have excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite, EAM, and SAP.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a business or technical field preferred, or equivalent relevant work experience.
• Five to seven years of related experience, including demonstrated leadership and management of a Maintenance department.
• Experience in the food or pharmaceutical industry preferred.
• Must be detailed-oriented, have strong self-confidence and leadership skills and have excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Must be able to uphold Maker’s Pride’s mission, vision and values on a daily basis.
• Previous experience supporting, operating, or maintaining ammonia systems is preferred.
• Experience implementing, administering, or optimizing Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).

Physical Requirements

• Sitting at a workstation for infrequent periods of time.
• Stand, walk and climb stairs on a frequent basis.
• Must be able to lift 25 pounds on an infrequent basis.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

• Work is done in both an office and production floor setting.
• Frequent production environment exposure, which includes noise, dust, moving machinery, forklifts and fluctuations in temperature.

The pay range for this full-time, salaried position is $97,210 - $145,814/year. Individual base pay depends on work location and additional factors such as experience, job-related skills, and relevant education or training. The position is eligible for a discretionary annual incentive based on company and individual performance.
